When we first arrived in San Francisco there was an epic storm with lightning dancing all across the sky as we were driving over The Golden Gate Bridge. The storm didn’t clear until the early hours of the morning so we were confined to the hotel bar (not so bad) for the night.
So the very next day, we drove over The Golden Gate Bride again, this time in lovely sunny conditions. We stopped at a couple of the vista points to get amazing shots of the bridge, as well as having a leisurely stroll towards the middle of it.
We then decided to have a look around the Presidio and the Palace Of Fine Arts.
San Francisco is such a modern city with all the latest pieces of tech but the city has a beautiful historic charm intertwined with it thats perfectly preserved.
We also found ourselves in the Lucasfilm and ILM headquarters! Marked only by a statue of Yoda. I couldn’t believe it, I had to sit down to absorb the nerdyness for half an hour.
Afterwards we had a tour around the USS Pampanito submarine which was an experience. The claustrophobic conditions these men lived and served in were scary. The Pampanito has completed six war patrols since 1943 and was turned into a museum in 1975.
Afterwards we found an arcade filled with retro and vintage arcade games, so of course we spent a good while in there!
