You only get one chance to make a first impression and boy, did Glamorous Corset pull out all the stops!

Rachel reached out to me a little while back. She explained that Glamorous Corset is a women owned small company based in New York specialising in steel boned corsets, so of course I was interested!

After sending my measurements to Rachel she found my perfect fit to be 20″ and recommended the Lara corset.

The Corset came with a handy leaflet that tells you everything you need to know about seasoning your new corset. I’m going to break it down for you here day by day. (I apologise I didn’t get a chance to take a picture every day)

I wanted to write a little review of the Lara Corset.

Once I opened it up, I was over the moon with the quality of the corset. It’s 100% cotton which is thick and durable, it also has waist tape which helps create a beautiful silhouette. I really really loved the hip detail, far too often I’ve worn an under-bust corset and everything has been pushed down and on display, but with the Lara corset thats a thing of the past!

The 7 Day Seasoning Diary:

Day one:

It’s advised that you tie your corset so it’s snug but not too tight that you warp the corset, and sit with it on for about an hour. I had it on for around an hour and a half, but for the first 20 minuets it felt a little too loose so I tightened it again to make it feel like a tight hug around my waist. When you first season a corset you will have gaps at the top and bottom as the steel boning gets used to the shape of your body, so these will go over the seasoning process. So as you can see there is a little gap at the top on the second picture. I did tie it a little too tight so adjusted accordingly until I was mostly comfortable.

Day two:

The gaps were still present, however the corset instantly felt a lot more comfortable. I did find myself having to loosen it off though. I wore it for around the same amount of time.

Day three:

It’s becoming more obvious that the lacing is getting tighter when you look at the back, but no need to loosen off this time. I wore it for around two hours this time

Day four:

Even when taking the corset off you can start to see the steel bones taking on the shape of your body. The gaps at the top and bottom are starting to close in more. Again, I wore it for two hours.

Day five:

The corset is starting to feel much more comfortable now, the gaps are still closing in and the lacing doesn’t need loosening off at all. I wore it for a little longer than two hours today.

Day six:

I must admit at this point I had a little break for a couple of days due to late night shifts at work, eat, work, sleep, repeat scenario. But once I got back to it, it was like no time had passed, the corset fit like a glove and retained most of my body shape. I started wearing my corset for a little longer due to the break.

Day seven:

Due to more late shifts I had to take another break. However when I put the corset back on (at this point I was wearing it for extended periods of time, not just an hour or two) it kept my shape, the gaps at the top and bottom were almost gone (I can just about fit a finger in the gap) and it was insanely comfortable.

Seven Day check in:

I’m really happy with the results after wearing the Lara Corset for seven days (non-consecutively). However I will be wearing the corset a little more to better season it, but I don’t think it will need much more. Rachel really did find my perfect size so not much needs doing. My plan is to wear it after work for a couple of hours at a time for a few more days. back before and after

The Result:

This baby is fully seasoned! It only took a few more days as predicted (perhaps another week). I took the Lara corset out for a spin on one of my first photoshoots of 2021 for a bit of an Old Hollywood boudoir style shoot and it didn’t fail me at all. Absolutely stunning and I couldn’t ask for a better corset!
