After 12 years of modelling in the UK, I decided it was about time I branched out into different countries. Albeit on holiday, but I was determined to work overseas.

Planning started by finalising our New York itinerary to see where a photoshoot would fit best, then started to put castings up online. I received quite a lot of interest after posting a couple of times in various facebook groups. Sadly some people were quite obnoxious about the idea, but the majority were very warm, welcoming & offering their ideas.

As I was sifting through all of my messages, one persons work stood out amongst them all – Kevin Liang’s work was just absolutely beautiful! I set to messaging him back right away. Within 30 minutes of talking we both knew exactly what we wanted from the shoot. We even drew our inspiration from the same place.

The day finally came, I woke up extra early to curl my hair (which of course the heat ruined) & made sure everything was in place. We walked to the subway (where this happened) to get the train to SoHo.

We started our shoot at the NoMo hotel taking full advantage of the gorgeous ivy arches whilst wearing my sparkly Collectif dress. We then continued our shoot walking all around SoHo, finishing on the outskirts of Little Italy wearing my Hell Bunny top & Banned Retro skirt.

I was so impressed by how well Kevin had thought out the shoot. I do a lot of location scouting myself, but being a tourist made it difficult. Kevin had chosen the perfect environment for our shoot, SoHo was full of bold colours, dramatic arches & looming fire escapes.

The shoot was so much fun. I saw more of how exciting & beautiful New York is, enjoyed the morning sunshine, & met such a fabulous and energetic photographer!

I can’t wait for my next shoot on my next holiday ❤️
